Michael Levitt
Professor Michael Levitt received his PhD from Cambridge University in 1972. Now, he serves as the chair of Michael Levitt Lab and Professor of structural biology at the Stanford University. His work focuses on structural biology and computational biology and he was one of the first researchers to conduct molecular dynamics simulations of DNA and proteins. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society, a member of the National Academy of Sciences and a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Professor Levitt received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2013 for “the development of multiscale models for complex chemical systems”.
